Day 126

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOMMY & DADDY!!!
We woke up in the tent and Daddy got out to make a quick breakfast on the picnic table, oatmeal and coffee. Mommy and I stayed in and I had my breakfast in the tent! See our little green tent, it was so cozy!
While Mommy and Daddy packed up our gear I had some tummy time on my play mat!
We drove into Forks for lunch. There were lots of people in Forks looking for vampires. I didn't get it, I thought vampires only go out at night?

We finally got to the the Hoh Rain Forest and found a really nice camp site. I got to stretch out on my play mat while Daddy set up the tent.
After our camp site was all set up we went on a Ranger led walk to the Hoh River.
Ranger Roger taught us about Western Hemlock, Sitka Spruce, and Douglas Fir trees. When the program was over we walked down to the river, had some snacks and hung out for a while.
When we got back to our tent I was really tired. Mommy put me down on the blanket and I had a really nice nap under the shade of a Big Maple.
While I was napping, Daddy and Mommy worked on an arts and crafts project that Daddy had brought along. She ended up making a paper carnation. Daddy is so romantic and thoughtful; paper symbolizes the strength in paper that comes form the interlaced connection of the paper's individual threads, and the carnation represents pure love and good luck.
When I got up we saw there were mule deer hanging out behind our tent! They were so close to us it was almost scary. Daddy told our camping neighbors to come over for a look, they were really excited too!
After we all had a late lunch the mosquitoes started to come out, so we jumped into the tent and took a nap. At dinner time, Daddy made tuna mac'n cheese and he made a really nice campfire! Mommy loved the s'mores!
When we were getting ready for bed, Mommy counted over 50 slugs around our campsite. She had to be careful where she stepped so she didn't squash any! It was nice to be back in the tent with Mommy and Daddy, I had a fun time playing on the sleeping bags!
