Day 168

This morning we woke up and enjoyed laying in the tent listening to the ocean waves crashing on the shore.
When we got up I helped Daddy get the food from bear box. We had to keep all our food inside the box so that a bear wouldn't come to our campsite and eat it.
After Daddy went to the creek to get water, he made breakfast and Mommy and I went on a beach walk. We explored the shore looking for sea-life. We saw a harbor seal, three river otter, birds and lots of bull kelp. Then we went through this sea cave!
After breakfast we packed up our tent and loaded up the bags. Daddy strapped me in and away we went!
We had a nice hike back to the car. Lots of people smiled at me and said I was the youngest backpacker they've seen! We drove off to do some more hiking just as it started to rain. But luckily we're from Seattle, rain doesn't stop us!
We went on a hike through some really neat trees with twisties and turnies.
We stopped at a couple beaches, but unfortunately it was high tide when we went to Botanical Beach so we didn't get to see any sea-life.
After our 3 mile loop we drove back toward Victoria and found a nice camp site and set up our tent at Goldstream Provincial Park. It was raining harder, so Daddy let Mommy and me stay in the car while he set up the tent. Then Mommy got me ready for bed in my warm suit while Daddy cooked dinner.
It was a rainy rainy night and the plip-plops of rain drops fell on our tent all night long.
