Day 273

Merry Christmas!
I was the first person awake this morning and I was so excited to see what Santa had brought for everyone! Mommy told me that I wasn't allowed to open any gifts before everyone was awake. So, I went over to the couch where Uncle Tim was sleeping and made sure he was bright eyed and ready for Christmas morning!
While Bubbie was getting up, I checked on the cookies and carrot I left for Santa and Rudolph. Mommy thought that Santa must be on a diet because he only took a few nibbles on the cookies with just a little sip of milk.
We actaully didn't have any time in the morning to open any gifts because we had to hurry up and get dressed so that we could make it to the Pike Place Senior Center on time. We went there to help deliver Christmas meals to people in need.
Uncle Tim, Bubbie, Daddy, Mommy, and I arrived in time to help make the cookie bags for the meals. Everyone was going to get 3 cookies for desert! Auntie Annie and Jason arrived to help us too! Since we had such a big crew and two vehicles, Daddy signed us up to deliver to two buildings, that's about 100 meals!

We had a very exciting time during our first deliver at the Josephinum Building. When we got to floor number 8, we noticed that there was smoke coming out from the door of one of the tenants. Mommy told Auntie Annie to take me downstairs right away and she ran down the hallway and started to pound on the tenants door, but nobody answered. She was pounding so loud that the neighbor from across the hall came out, he started to pound on the door too. Still no-body answered.

Mommy came down to find me and Auntie Annie, we were safe, and everyone else kept on delivering the meals. We had already asked the front desk lady call 911 and before we knew it firemen were charging into the building with axes and air tanks. At the same time the Christmas morning church service was letting out in the main foyer of the building. There was quite a commotion going on.
It turned out that the man in the smokey apartment had fallen asleep while cooking something on his stove. After the firemen blew all the smoke away we watched them load into their trucks and drive away. It took a while for us to get going because while Daddy, Jason, Uncle Tim and Bubbie were delviering meals, the firemen stopped the elevators and they had to climb up to the 14th floor, then all the way back down! I'm just happy that everyone was ok and that the buidling didn't burn down.

We were lucky at the next building, Olive Ridge, nothing out of the ordniary there! We were all happy that we successfully got all of those meals delivered!

Daddy told me that I have been to the Olive Ridge buidling before, but I don't remember it. It was last Chistmas when I was in Mommy's belly that we delviered meals with Uncle Tim and Auntie Annie! Looks like we just started a wonderful family holiday tradition!
To read more about the meals on wheels and firemen go to Bubbie's blog Totally Kids Times.

We were all hungry and wanted to go home for breakfast, but we made a quick stop at the buena vista for a photo opp!
There was a nice family that took a picture for us!

Back at home we had breakfast and just when everyone was ready for a nap we hopped back in the car and went for a long walk along the beach at Discovery Park! We even got to see a baby seal!
Bubbie cooked a delicious Christmas dinner, and even though I did eat dinner I also tried the wrapping paper too!
I was so lucky to have such a fun Christmas! Santa brought me presents, Mommy and Daddy got some things for me, and so many of my friends and family gave me gifts to help me celebrate my first Christmas!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful gifts and cards! I hope you had as fantastic of a Christmas as I did! Now here is a slide show for you to enjoy!
