day 119

I was so excited for another fun day at the Sugar Shack I woke up at 7 a.m. Mommy tried to entertain me in bed for a while, she was tired from her late night last night. I wanted to get the day started and play with everyone, but nobody else was up. We tried to be quiet and let everyone sleep, but it is so much fun singing and talking and playing with my toys that I had to go wake Bubbie up! She was just getting out of bed when we walked upstairs, but she jumped back into bed when she saw me coming, she really really likes hanging out with me in the morning!

It was a cool morning, but we headed outside to the deck while Great Auntie B made coffee. When Auntie Annie woke up she ran outside with excitement to tell us about her dream, something about kids on a field trip to Lake Betty. The sky was covered in clouds and the air was cool so Mommy wrapped us up in blankets. I fell asleep being all cozied up with Mommy. We went back inside when my Aunties finished making breakfast; Great Auntie B made a yummy fruit salad and Auntie Annie made an egg sandwich!

Mommy and Auntie Annie played in the jeep wrangler again, they made more movies. This time they went all the way around the lake, they said it looked like a jungle! Bubbie took a turn in the wrangler and drove Auntie Annie around too.

I’ve been getting a lot of tummy time, Daddy’s orders, which helps me get so strong. It is still a little uncomfortable for me, so I kind of put up a fuss. If I remember, I try to roll over. Rolling is fun too! I’m not comfortable doing it all the time, but everyone cheers for me when I do!

Auntie Annie left back down to Minneapolis and Mommy and I took a nap. Mommy was surprised when I woke up, she didn’t think I slept for very long. Bubbie took me on another pram ride up and down the drive way, Mommy took Great Auntie B on a wrangler ride and later I played on the floor while they watched a movie.

There is so much to watch at the Sugar Shack and I don’t mean the hundreds of movies in Bubbie’s collection. There was a great heron that got chased away by an eagle. The loons, Larry and Linda, have found a great spot on the lake to ‘relieve’ themselves and they come by often. The yellow canaries, Ethel and friends, take turns eating from the feeder. Tina, Harvey and the hummingbird gang are fun to watch as they buzz about their feeder. You can see fish jump in the lake and all types of airplanes in the sky. You can hear the leaves rustling in the wind and the choo choo train tooting in the distance. The sun rise is warm and welcomed and the sun set is still and unhurried. Walking around the lake you’ll see the Eagers’ beaver dam and the chiseled tree nubs. There are giant ant hills, all kinds of animal scat, and so many flowers and plants it will be a good challenge for me to memorize them all. So I don’t know why they watch movies at the Sugar Shack when there is always so much else going on, but it does give me an opportunity to get in my tummy time and sometimes a nice nap!

Good Night!
